about the 2010 Summer
Family Extravaganza
Landscape contractors and their families joined California Landscape Contractors Association friends and colleagues for the 2010 Summer Family Extravaganza. Held in the heart of Silicon Valley, the event offered members an economical summer vacation while helping members connect — with themselves, their teams, their clients and their future.
Held in late July at the Fairmont Hotel San Jose, the event featured an educational focus on marketing and profiting from sustainability, with an eye on helping members overcome tight financial times and cloudy economic conditions.
In other workshops, Green guru Frank Niccoli helped members evaluate their companies and understand how to make them sustainable. Steve Jacobs chaired a well-received panel on “How to differentiate your company in the residential market,” and Barbara Landrith, CLCA Netizen Extraordinaire, demonstrated how members could profit from social networking through Twitter,Facebook and LinkedIn.
The schedule was also packed with networking, as members connected to share tips and ideas.

The event was also marked with fun and tradition as organized by members of the Women’s Auxiliary — the meeting focused on the services and support the auxiliary provides the association.
