What An Extravaganza!

Family fun, networking and powerful education programs combined to make the California Landscape Contractor's Association's summer meeting quite the extravaganza!

Held at the Resort at Squaw Creek July 27 - 30, the event drew rave ratings from the more than 170 attendees. "The venue was awesome, the events fun, the speakers worthwhile. Thank you for yet another wonderful event!"

During the General Membership meeting, attendees were briefed on CLCA's involvement in an important water task force. The slate of candidates for CLCA's 2006 elected offices was introduced, and John Vorbeck (at left, with 2005 CLCA President Barbara Alvarez) was named a Life Member.

The Summer Family Extravaganza featured plenty of networking opportunities.
The Afterburners presentation, sponsored by the Landscape Contractors Insurance Services, taught attendees a fighter pilot's secrets to business success.
Dan Burnett, CEO of TEC, shared the power of business coaching.
During the extravaganza, the Women Auxiliary's named their Member of the Year, Nelson Colvin, shown with Auxiliary President Jill Crudup. Auxiliary members were widely praised for their Mardi Gras on the Lake fundraiser for LEAF scholarships. They also won praise for the spectacular goodie bags they provided attendees.
There was an amazing golf tournament benefiting LEAF.

Golf task force chair Pete Navarro (left, shaking hands with Director of Events Bill Schnetz) deftly organized the LEAF tourney. He also won applause for his play on the softball field, acrobatically fielding several pop-ups while playing catcher in the annual North vs. South softball game.
During the game, CLCA President Elect Tom Ellington and 2005 President Barbara Alvarez conducted serious business ...

All in all, it was a thumbs up event!
